The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically altered our way of life and presents special challenges in almost all areas of life, either private or public: no doubt, we have to reshape our social life and rethink the way we work and learn.
Thanks to the possibilities of digitization, home schooling has already become normal in many countries and online tutorials and webinars were already on the agenda before the outbreak of COVID-19. In the past, however, traditional classroom training was given preference over online learning methods, on the one hand due to the complexity of specific training topics and on the other hand for its advantages based on social interaction and the high level of attention given to face-to-face instruction.
As the pandemic is challenging routine processes, we had to rethink our proven training concept while social distancing. In fact, in 2020, only a small number of in-person training courses were held at the ISGUS training centre in Villingen-Schwenningen. They took place between the first and second Corona lockdown and were exclusively available to our German sales and service centres.
To fill the gap for our distribution partners abroad, both sales and technical webinars covering a variety of topics were offered in 2020. Based on the experience gathered from the first series of virtual training and considering the fact that classroom training is not supposed to be possible anytime soon, the ISGUS Academy has meanwhile elaborated a comprehensive online training schedule for 2021.
These virtual training sessions will start in January 2021. The overriding objective is to cover all essential topics for sales and technical staff, thus enabling our distribution partners abroad to professionally consult and support our customers. With this and in line with our commitment of being “always close to the customer”, we are convinced that the high level of professional services provided to our customers can be maintained or even further improved despite these difficult and extraordinary times.
